You feel that which is not your own unless you know how to control it.
[his words are sharp, but not a denial. their Bond had simply been a private matter, not something he flaunted about like a new bride and her wedding ring. Dantes's back is as straight as a sword, and he eyes Enkidu critically for another moment before he turns on his heel.]
Follow me directly. Don't wander off, you'll get lost.
[it's a short path to the area of the theatre that's actually the living space, and when Dantes comes in, there's already a small fire in the grate, signs of him living there. paperwork on the coffee table as well as a newspaper, pillows on the couch, and most notably, the cat that had been in the window.
he sees Enkidu, and freezes, taking a slow step back. clearly, this is a shyer cat, and not about to rush forward in affection.
by contrast, Dantes is going to the table and plucking up a mug, downing the remaining contents of whatever was in it.]

Someone's cat had kittens. We took him in when he was old enough to be raised away from his mother. He's always been quite shy by nature.
[the word we slips past his lips without thinking, and he moves instead to the doorway that leads to the kitchen. the cat, meanwhile, looks at the hand warily, sniffing the air - his tail flicks in an unsure fashion.]
What do you prefer to drink, Lancer?

[unfortunately, Dantes doesn't have that much wisdom when it comes to making Enkidu's coffee. in the kitchen, he pours two cups - one made to his fashion, the other with double the amount of milk and sugar he thinks might be reasonable to ask for in coffee. not suffocatingly sweet, but quite.
bringing the cups back, he sets Enkidu's on the table, staying standing for now.]
Ignatz. His name is Ignatz.
[and the little one is eyeing Enkidu with a stare and settling down where he is. he's slowly warming up.]

[It's a while before they hear from the gardening fae. The whole, rapidly going feral thing, the drunken fumble before that...Many things where happening in the life of Mikasa Ackerman. And while she was able to maintain her garden and some of the plants where already starting to flower..
So there's a small message sent. One asking for clearer directions than 'by the alley where the trash is' because that could have taken awhile. It still takes awhile. There was a lot more streets than she was used to, but eventually the door is knocked on.]

[he lifts an eyebrow at Enkidu's complaining. any more and you wouldn't taste the drink at all.]
Would you care for sugared milk, instead of coffee?
[the cat has taken advantage of the confusion to scurry closer to Dantes instead, tucking himself under Dantes's chair.]

[And with that amazing description, she does turn up. It was a good job she'd not given a time. Because she probably would have been late, not because she'd paused to pet the dog or anything...
But she's there, and tilting her head to look at plant friend. Before her calloused and scarred hand reaches out to shake the offered hand, her grip probably a bit tighter than necessary. ]
That's right. About Root? [She was pretty sure this was the person who'd called their plant that, it was better than Tendou's name for his mandrake though, and Mikasa gave a small nod.] Mikasa Ackerman. [Normally she didn't really give her full name, but it wasn't infamous here. And her username was Mikasa Ackerman after all.]

[The hallway gets a slow glance around, then the fae was going in. Antenna taking in the smells as she wandered up the stairs and to the mentioned room, still unused to these houses. It really was like Kiyomi's manor. The houses she's spent her life in were a lot more simple.
But they get a head tilt.] The plants? Is Root the only one you've named then?
[She didn't get naming the plant to begin with. But just naming one and leaving the others seemed a bit off.]

More...Loud... [She just stares at said plant. Like she's expecting it to suddenly burst into life. But it doesn't, so she slowly makes her way across the room. Taking care not to step on any of pillows with her boots, gonna just sit on the couch.] I'm not sure how I'd feel about someone giving me a plant that cries... [Like a baby, also looks like a fugly baby. Mandrakes, in general, seemed like too much of a responsibility for a plant.]
Thank you... [She's craning her neck, taking a closer look at Root from where she sat.] You're a lot more covered than I expected...

It's not about making conversation. It's about providing support, and you need it.
( there's a fresh loaf of bread in the kitchen; he has to keep his hands busy, even with talons. )
Tell me: where can I find you, Enkidu? Please let me help you.
( if not, then he'll take to the sky. it shouldn't be hard to spot them, wherever they are. )

( it's not hard to miss what enkidu is saying, and lio feels his heart sink further. if things were lighter, he might point out that enkidu's not being a particularly good stranger either. strangers don't bring up an observation like that. no, if anything, it's almost like they want lio to intervene.
he can't respond. he's already up in the air as that second message is sent, and the bread is in tow. it doesn't take him long to see that green hair, a beacon in his eyes, and before long he slowly drifts to the ground in lazy spirals, landing nearby. )
I was just passing by. ( technically not a lie. ) And I just happened to have this with me.
( he holds out the bread, wrapped in a white cloth. )
